Got this myself on my phone, and also it just declined to update. Here's what helped me.

Edit: this seems to be an issue that Facebook are aware of. It's an issue with the Facebook application, and also not a generalised Play Store issue.

This is what benefited me a minimum of.

  1. Settings > Apps > All > Google Play Shop, Clear information and also Clear cache

  2. Settings > Applications > All > Google Play Services > Manage area, Clear all data and Clear cache


It does not hurt if you reboot your phone prior to you try upgrading facebook once more. As well as, the install was SLOW. Simply at least 4-5 mins. Yet, it did work. Otherwise try to uninstall it, or merely await a solution.
