Facebook went offline for numerous customers on Thursday, with the world's most popular social network telling individuals that "something went wrong".
When going to Facebook.com, rather than seeing the typical homescreen or news feed, individuals were greeted with an empty display and also a short mistake message.

The failure began at around 5.30 pm BST however, for the majority of customers, appeared to have been dealt with around 20 minutes after.
Down Detector, which looks at reports of prominent solutions being down, presented blackouts in the UK, Europe as well as the US.

The web site went down on Thursday afternoon and also brief-ly appeared to work once again for some customers.
A representative for Facebook has said they are looking into what occurred.
