Turn Off Location On Facebook
When Facebook determined to take out efforts from its short-term check-in solution, Places, it promptly implemented a much more easy location-sharing feature that does not even have a name. It's just there. As well as it's creepy.
Now, every time you make up an article on a smart phone or computer, you'll see a light-gray location description in the reduced left of the status box.
Facebook sneakily grabs your area using GPS or Wi-Fi router, and also connects it to your blog post, so your good friends can appreciate a much more extensive stalking experience.
Do you keep in mind choosing in to that? Me neither.
As a matter of fact, if you dig through your personal privacy and account settings, the option to switch off location-sharing isn't offered. However, it's rather easy to turn it off. Here's just how:
- Because the area is shown in light gray, it's really easy to miss. Constantly check the reduced left of the standing box to see if a location is attached.
- If you get on the Internet, just float the arrow over the area and also click the "X." Your area will no more be affixed, even to future conditions. If you later on transform your mind, simply click the location pen to manually enter your location, however beware: it will be attached again for all future updates (unless you turn it off once again).
-In the Facebook mobile app, touch the area to remove it. On the iPhone, you can switch off location services for Facebook entirely by mosting likely to Setups > Location Services, and also turning it off for Facebook.
