Facebook went offline for lots of users on Thursday, with the world's most popular social media informing individuals that "something went wrong".
When going to Facebook.com, instead of seeing the normal homescreen or news feed, users were welcomed with an empty screen as well as a brief mistake message.

The blackout began at around 5.30 pm BST but, for most users, appeared to have been settled around 20 mins after.
