Facebook Account Deactivated

To state that Facebook plays a big part in my life is a bit of an understatement-- as I'm sure it is for any other social networks supervisor. Not just do I use it to stay connected with family and friends-- however I'm permanently including material to one of the many pages I admin, whether for myself or for clients.

Facebook Account Deactivated

Facebook Disabled My Account

Envision my surprise when I tried to sign into Facebook one early morning just to receive the following message:

My account was disabled? What does that also suggest?

I attempted to log in with one more browser and I got the very same message. Facebook impaired my account!

Facebook supplied a kind submission page for those desiring to contact Facebook about their handicapped account, and I emailed them primarily asking why my account was disabled as well as exactly how I can get gain access to back to the many pages I'm an admin for. I explained that I take care of a range of web pages for customers, and also was always conscious about the web content I published-- besides, my moms and dads get on Facebook too.

After sending the e-mail to Facebook, I sent an e-mail to the pals that's e-mail addresses I actually had as well as clarified what happened. Thanks to the connect-ability of Facebook, the majority of my friends were just able to be contacted by me on Facebook.

The replies I received from that e-mail were classified into three various groups:

- WTF/WTH-- why would they do that ??
- Is it because you uploaded political stuff (I such as Ron Paul and common web content about #OWS).
- Maybe somebody flagged you.

I check out several of the short articles by others that have had their accounts disabled to find out why mine was unexpectedly drawn-- without warning I must add. The posting dates on the articles span the lifetime of Facebook, revealing that the company has actually forever gotten on a behind-the-scenes campaign of disabling accounts at their discretion.

I discovered some posts by renowned bloggers or reporters, including Roger Ebert, Robert Scoble, and also Stan Shroeder (Mashable). Many of these high-profiled Facebook individuals had their accounts and/or web pages reabled not long after Facebook discovered who they disabled. For the remainder people, we're basically on our very own.

Checking out these short articles really did not instill much hope in me or my circumstance. The understanding of what I lost was starting to embed in too.

Throughout the years I had computers collision, stolen, shed, and so on as well as depend on Facebook to organize all my travel and also event photos. The internet site isn't going anywhere anytime soon, so why not post all my photos on Facebook for my friends as well as family members to view at their discretion? There were well over 2000 images, plenty of video clips, post (notes), plus all the calls (I still haven't had the ability to reconnect with several that were all lost when Facebook disabled my account). This was looking to be an extremely grim scenario as I better understood just what was shed.

I had to restore access to Facebook to manage the web pages for my clients, as well as additionally for my own business. A number of my pages' admin gain access to were shown to a companion as well as were easily set back up with the brand-new Facebook account I begrudgingly created, cursing Facebook under my breath as I established the brand-new account.

A few of the Facebook pages admin accessibility were shared with my clients, whom I needed to contact to have them re-add me with my new account. All of them asked "Why did your account obtain disabled?" and truly so. I, too, would examine the individual I paid to handle my Facebook web page why their Facebook account was disabled. Would not you?

I still do not have an answer to that concern. "I have no suggestion" is the response I still offer, since its true. Facebook has still yet to give me a reason that my account was impaired. After reading the factors Facebook disabled accounts on their page I was still in the dark. I didn't spam-add individuals, article sex-related content, pester anyone. so why they deleted me didn't make sense. Only after I check out various other posts did I comprehend a bit more.

Facebook can disable your account if your display screen name is different than that on your birth certificate. Mine was, yet not by a lot. It was still phonetically the same, but spelled different than the remainder of my household. I also had a client that recently made use of a competition promotion to boost their email checklist. According to Facebook promotional standards, competitions can only be operated on Facebook via a couple of applications: ShortStack as well as WildFire. Could that be why my account was disabled? I inspected that customer's Facebook web page as well as it was gone as well. Aha!

Although the competition wasn't specifically hosted on Facebook (it was hosted on the client's website), and the victor was alerted via email (you can not announce champions on your wall surface), I was certain this was the annoying action which had me ushered off Facebook without so much as a 'Bye-bye'.

At this moment it had to do with a week because I at first created Facebook that eventful early morning, and I still hadn't obtained a reply. I revisited the web page enabling me to contact Facebook, and described that I currently had a better suggestion about why they disabled me, which I was sorry. I pledged never to do something like that once again (was it really that bad??) if they just reable my account.

I sent that off and also waited once more. After a couple of more days I realized something. something very essential-- I developed a filter in gmail for Facebook e-mails. Even if they did email me, I would certainly have never ever received the e-mail due to the fact that it was readied to "Avoid Inbox/Delete". Rough.

So I sent an additional email to Facebook, this time around letting them understand that I had a filter on my gmail and also if they did call me prior to this e-mail, I would certainly have never obtained it.

A couple of days later I finally obtained an e-mail from Javier at Facebook. Here's the only feedback I'll likely get from Facebook:.
Hi,

Unfortunately, your account has been permanently disabled for violating Facebook’s Terms. We will not reactivate it for any reason.

This will be our last email regarding your account. For more information about our policies, please read the Facebook Community Standards: https://www.facebook.com/communitystandards/

Thanks,

Javier

What a juvenile response-- sure Facebook is a 'young' firm, but I make sure there need to be someone there with far better tact than 'we're not mosting likely to reable your account-- do not email us once again.' OK Facebook.

So what did I learn from my experience with Facebook?

1. Back up your account! You never know if/when they'll determine to erase you.
2. Do not manage your numerous client's pages with the exact same account. If one page/account obtains deleted, you won't shed them all.
3. A lot of my friends are snobs who's accounts are either concealed from search, or they disabled the "Include as a good friend" button making it impossible to re-add them.

Its had to do with a month because I had my account disabled, and also had lots of time to assess the experience. I have not tried to get in touch with Facebook directly since I received the e-mail from Javier, yet I did start the internet site www.facebook-disabled-my-account.org, and also the hashtag project on Twitter #FBdisabledMe to accentuate the adverse experience.

Do I want Facebook to transform their disabling policy? Nope.

I take care of a couple of MU websites and if you desire somebody off your site, by all means erase them/block them/whatever. However, for Facebook to disable the account and to keep the data/photos/videos/ connections/blog articles, that is wrong. What would Facebook be if no one uploaded content onto the website-- No pictures to share or tag-- No write-ups to Like-- No status updates to LOL at-- It would certainly be NOTHING.

Facebook should permit those that they disabled to download their account, letting them recover their photos/videos/notes/ etc., prior to going off to the barren marshes of Google+, or to RT their pals standing updates (in contrast to 'Liking' it). Facebook currently makes it feasible for an active account to be downloaded and install, so why not a disabled account?

It's time for Facebook to get a little bit elder in this field-- specifically with their IPO revealed. I'm in fact considering buying stock so they will need to listen to my complaint-- at the very least I'll profit from them.

Have you had your Facebook account impaired? Did you get it back, and also if so exactly how?
